Vandalization of Oba of Lagos’ house

Claim

The residence of Oba Akiolu was ransacked and vandalized by angry mobs, carting away his office staff and shoes.

 

Analysis

Sources confirmed that the Oba’s palace was not set ablaze as reported by some media, however, the palace was vandalized and some of the Oba’s valuable items including his office staff were stolen. According to Premium Times, the Oba was protected by a team of soldiers in about five vehicles who had responded to a distress call and whisked Oba Akiolu away.
